PHB Medical Technologist


Complies with PENN HIGHLANDS BROOKVILLE policies and procedures, accreditation agency requirements, and federal, state or local law and regulations

Phlebotomy of all types and ages of patients including proper ID of the patient and the maintenance and integrity of specimens.

Performs basic maintenance procedures for laboratory equipment

Performs laboratory testing according to established policies and procedures

Performs necessary quality control and takes appropriate corrective action as needed when the quality control is not with acceptable range

Calls and faxes reports to the appropriate patient location including critical values

Processes and sends specimens to referral labs according to established specimen requirements

Receives and coordinates reports from outside laboratories

Basic knowledge of all Laboratory equipment operations to perform specimen testing.

Assist with the orientation of new employees

Must be able to perform all above listed tasks working alone on patients of all ages

General duties as directed.


  • Degree in Medical Technology or related field required
  • One year experience preferred
  • Registered as MT with American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or MT/MLT American Medical Technologist (AMT) within 1 year of hire required
  • Familiar Microsoft office software required

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
